CAPITAL STRATEGIST · FUND ARCHITECT · AUTHOR
About
Sushant Shrestha has spent his career at the intersection of capital, systems, and human development — drawn to the places where finance can do more than generate returns. As a capital strategist and fund architect, he designs and manages venture capital and impact fund vehicles that bring both financial rigor and contextual intelligence to the challenges of our time.
He is Founding Partner at Open Future Fund, a blended capital vehicle and modular fund of funds focused on ecological restoration, food systems resilience, community wellness, and cooperative infrastructure. He is also Founder & Managing Partner at Humanitas Smart Planet Systems, a venture capital fund investing in climate technology and social innovation, which has delivered 3.1x returns to date. His capital work has generated over $20M in growth capital for portfolio companies across artificial intelligence, smart materials, and blockchain.
Trained in the Social Finance Programme at Saïd Business School, Oxford University, Sushant brings a rare combination of fund design expertise, due diligence methodology, and portfolio construction thinking to every engagement. He works across the full capital lifecycle — from thesis development and LP relationship building, to deal sourcing, diligence, and value creation post-investment.
Beyond capital deployment, Sushant advises founders from ideation through exit — helping them sharpen their narrative, prepare for diligence, and build the operational foundations that investors look for. He also builds AI-powered intelligence tools that bring analytical depth to venture and impact decision-making.
He is co-editor of Embracing Wholeness in Diversity: Towards Thriving Human Futures (Pacific Integral, forthcoming) — a collection exploring cultural pluralism, adult development, and collective healing, with contributors spanning leadership development, indigenous knowledge, and organizational transformation.

FUND DESIGN
Structuring capital with intention
Fund vehicles are not neutral containers. The terms, thesis, and structure of a fund shape what gets built and who benefits. Sushant designs funds with full awareness of their systemic impact — not just their financial mechanics.
DUE DILIGENCE
Evaluating the whole picture
Diligence goes beyond financials. Assessing a company means understanding its team dynamics, market timing, operational readiness, and the contextual forces shaping its sector. This transdisciplinary approach surfaces risks and opportunities that conventional analysis misses.
PORTFOLIO CONSTRUCTION
Systems thinking applied to capital
A portfolio is a system, not a collection of bets. Sushant constructs portfolios with attention to thematic coherence, stage diversification, and the relationships between companies — looking for how portfolio members can strengthen each other.
VALUE CREATION
Capital plus capability
The check is the beginning of the relationship, not the end. Post-investment support spans strategic advisory, network access, fundraising preparation for subsequent rounds, and operational guidance for founders navigating complexity.
